Our 4–5 month Pointing Dog program trains upland hunting breeds to find and hold game, quarter with hunters, and remain steady to wing and shot. Dogs gain field experience on quail, pheasant, chukar, sharp tail grouse, and more, including summer training on wild birds in North Dakota.
The Pointing Dog Program at Cour’s Retrievers is designed for upland hunting breeds and focuses on developing reliable, confident hunting dogs capable of working in the field. Over 4–5 months, your dog will learn to quarter with hunters, locate game, point naturally, and remain steady to wing and shot — essential skills for a successful hunting season.
Pointing breeds require a lot of running and field exposure. During summer months, we take our dogs to North Dakota to train on wild birds in natural hunting conditions. Nothing prepares a dog for hunting season like coveys of sharp tail, Hungarian partridge, and pheasants on the open prairies.
Prepare your pointing breed to be a confident, skilled, and steady hunting companion.
