Advanced Gun Dog Training 6-Month Program

The Advanced Gun Dog Program at Cour’s Retrievers builds on the foundation of our standard Gun Dog program, expanding obedience and field skills to develop retrievers that can work as a seamless part of your hunting team. Over 6 months, dogs learn advanced field techniques, blind retrieves, and multi-bird retrievals — all with precision, confidence, and teamwork.

Our advanced retriever training focuses on:

• Blind retrieves – guiding dogs to birds they did not see fall using whistle and hand signals
• Multiple retrieves – observing, remembering, and completing several retrieves in high-action scenarios
• Quartering and flushing – expertly working the upland field for game birds
• Steady to shot – remaining calm and focused during gunfire
• Waterfowl retrieves – handling long, challenging retrieves on land and water
   

This program is ideal for hunting environments with multiple hunters and multiple birds falling simultaneously, preparing your retriever to be an efficient, obedient, and reliable hunting companion in any field condition.

Completion of the Advanced Gun Dog Program prepares your retriever for AKC Field Trial Derby, AKC Senior Hunt Tests, and UKC Seasoned Hunt Tests, creating a foundation for the Performance Retriever Program.
