Basic Obedience 6–8 Week Program

Our Basic Obedience program is designed for household companions of any breed who want to be well-behaved, confident, and a true part of the family. Over 6–8 weeks, your dog will learn essential commands while developing a positive attitude and respect for their surroundings.

During this program, our experienced trainers focus on teaching the five basic obedience commands:

• Sit & Down – foundation commands for focus and self-control
• Here – come all the way when called, no matter the distraction
• Heel – walk, jog, or run politely by your side, left or right
• Place – go to a designated spot, like a bed or platform, and stay there, keeping your home organized and peaceful
   

In addition to commands, we work on on- and off-leash manners, and help your dog reduce common behaviors such as jumping, biting, scratching, pulling, and snatching treats. The goal is a confident, respectful dog who is a joy to have around the home.

If your puppy’s path leads to gun dog or performance retriever training, this obedience program provides the critical foundation for advanced training. Early focus on attention, consistency, and respectful behavior sets your dog up for success in any program.
